ATA 133 Chipset with ATA 100 Harddrive

On the verge of buying a:

    Western Digital 320Go 7200 tr/min ATA 100

    I've got this motherboard

    http://www.asus.com/prog/spec.asp?m=...eluxe&langs=01

and I would like to have the Western Digital 320Go 7200 tr/min ATA 100 as a slave harddrive. My master is currently a 160gb maxtor ATA 133, can I run these two together or do I need to just get another 133 drive?

    Thanks for any replies

...but u will take a hit on performance, nufin to do with ATA standards, just two drives on the same IDE channel is a real killer as only 1 drive can transmit at a time

I would have thought that the only time you'd get a performance hit is if you were using the two drives at the same time.

Yup, though looking at that motherboard couldn't you run it off a different channel? or have you used them already?
