Annoying click problem

OK this is silly. Every time I left click ONCE on an icon or file, it goes to rename it.

Have a Logitech MX 3100 desktop (so its the MX 1000 laser Mouse) and Windows XP. Have uninstalled/reinstalled Setpoint, no joy. Rebooted, no joy. Tired mucking aound with the double click settings, no joy. Any ideas?

on the icon? or on the writing? cos if the file is already selected thats default behaivour for clicking on the writing.

One of my MS intellimice started doing this. it was a problem with the mouse double clicking when i was only single clicking, it wasnt software related anyway. Could be that?

Not sure all I know is I click once on the icon say the My Documents Icon, not the writing, the words 'My Documents' are then highlighted ready for me to change. Its in every program/file/icon.

Anything that would normally get highlighted with one click goes to be renamed.
