Help With System Restore

Ok...went into my room and privacy guardian was running...canceled it immediately but it had deleted most of my files and corrupted the system restore file, though it IS still there, just will not work, can anyone help me try to restore my computer to any other day than today as i'm afriad i cannot...or is there no solution and just start with what i have left?

Yowch - personally I'd be looking for a data recovery program (Acronis do a pretty good one) to recover documents, then ditch system restore and invest in regular backups

Windows system restore does not roll back documents , just system configs.

what on earth did you do to let this software , which seems to be designed to clear web history , delete actualy documents ?

to tell the truth i don't really no what happened, i thought it was just dumping the crap, then noticed i couldn't go onto a few things and immediately canceled it, i re-installed XP and system restore is now working though it will only let me restore to yesterday (the time it happened). I'll try downloading Acronis and see what happens and get back, thanks

Got acronis and have decided just to learn my lesson and regularly backup my system, maybe invest in an external hard drive since a few have been going cheap recently, got a good load of my coursework back from mates and found a few in temp files so happy enough...
