    auto key strokes!!!

I have a Compaq 2104 laptop, about three years old. A couple of days ago I started to have a problem when I was filling in text boxes or typing in Word. When I opened a text box, for instance for changing a folder's name or entering an e-mail address the '`' symbol [the little chap on the key to the left of the '1' key] auto enters. I can delete it by using the del and backspace keys or get out by pressing the 'esc' key. of course, this problem does not happen every time I boot up!!! I have checked all viruses by updating and running Norton and have fround no nasties. The only new hard and software I have loaded is a Logitech Quick Cam. Anyone with any ideas? David

Well have you run a virus scanner? And a spyware scan just to be sure.

Programs to do both of which are freely available.

(Sounds like a stuck key to me though)
