    Microsoft Office Problem

Ok on my Dad's PC, there is a wierd problem. Suddenly when you try to open word, or Excel or anything, a popup appears, saying the application must be installed to run. Please run setup from the location you originally installed the application.

Ive re-installed Office 2 times, same thing????

What the hell, please help as my dad isn't happy.

Open Word and wait for the popup to appear. Now insert the office setup cd and it should complete automatically. As with most software they will detect the cd inserted and install whatever files are needed. If not then you should see a browse option. Simply type your cd/dvd drive path here e.g. e: or f: and you should be set.

Erm, i don't understand what your getting at.

It installs fine. It's all installed fine on the PC. When i open word, the pop up comes up, and if you press ok, word closes. Pressing ok or w/e with the CD in does nothing.

What OS are you running and any service packs installed recently?

    XP Pro, SP2.

    Nothing changed recently.

All i did, was uncheck a few things on startup, but putting them back doesn't do anything.

My apologies I misunderstood and assumed your problem was something different that I experienced recently.

How about trying a repair from control panel add/remove programs? If you have not done that already.

Or google the exact error message for a solution. Sorry can't be of any more help.
