Anyone had to RMA a BFG card?

Hey guys,

My 6600gt died on monday, and cos its got a lifetime warranty I sent an email to the BFG guys, who told me to send them my name/address/etc for them to action the warranty... Has anyone done this before, and if so what kind of timeframe do they operate in? I'm having to use a geforce4 which is painfully slow

the fan on my 6600gt has been dodgy for a while so i asked bfg about rma'ing it and was told no more than 2 weeks

would have rma'd it by now but havent got anything to use while it's away

I requested an RMA a week ago last friday from BFG - sent all the stuff, havent heard a thing since and they havent responded to emails.

Pretty shoddy.

hmm doesnt sound too great... What do you reckon about returning it to the land of PC world (whats that? I bought something in PC world yes but it was half price )

you could try it, was it in store or mail order? How long ago?

also am i the only one who was hoping u could by a BFG (Big * Gun) Ala ID'soft.

it was in store, I may pop down when ive got access to a car and try to take it back... effort tho

I can't see why they wouldn't take it back, reason being, it does have a life-time warranty and the kind of people that buy from PC World wouldn't know what an RMA is so you'd be expected to bring the card back to the store if you experienced problems. In addition, they will simply RMA the card themselves and have a fresh replacement to sell, that is of course, if they still sell the card in-store, them not doing so being the only reason i can see why they wouldn't take it back.

Good point, maybe i could try to blag a 7800gs out of it, who knows... anyhow I'll update this thread when something happens

The DVI port on my BFG 6800GT stopped working so I sent mine off to their RMA address Wales, after about 3 weeks got a replacement card back from the USA. Had a bit of hassle with customs but didn't pay anything in the end.
