    tv tuner problem :(

i have a rather new acer laptop with a hybrid tv tuner which you view using the acer arcade software, at first this worked fine but recently it has stopped working, flashing up a message saying no tv device and flatly refused to do anything. I have downloaded what i believe are the right drivers from the acer website (it gives little info) to no avail and the acer supposrt section is completely out of date and doesnt list my laptop in its notebook list meaning getting help is proving difficult, so anyone have any suggestions?

Can you check to see if it works on another computer just to prove that the tuner is working.

If it does work then remove the tuner from hardware devices in your computer, reboot and see if it picks it up again with your install disc loaded should then work again.

If you havent access to another computer then try above as it may be a corrupt installation.

i'm not willing to invalidate my warranty by taking the tuner out of the notebook chassis, the tuner came with the notebook and has no installation disc and i truly have no idea where to find the tuner, though the fact that i cant find it in hardware either means im looking in the wrong place or that it isnt installed.

does the tuner appear in device manager, if so does it have a red cross or yellow exclamation mark, if so it is either disabled or has a driver issue (respectively). If the tuner is not listed then it may well be fubared and need replacing. Do you have a system restore DVD, if so try backin up ur data and restoring the Acer OS build, just a few thoughts

I cant find it in the device manager which leads me to believe it is completely buggered, which
is a bit of a shame. I'll see what acer say, but i might restpre, i believe i have a recovery partition rather than a disc.
