TV Out Help

I've got a Radeon 9200 video card which has TV Out. I've never used it before and have just opened the bag with the cables in. At one end of the cable is the svideo/composite connector and at the other end, theres 4 female connectors (red, yellow, green blue) and a black connector which looks like a female version of the composite connector, except it only has 4 holes and a rectangular one. It looks like this:

Any ideas on how I use these cables to output a signal to my tv?

The four holes and the rectangular one is the s-video connection. It provides the best possible (image quality wise) connection between your card and to your tv. So you would need a svideo cable for the connection. But, the other connecters (4 female connectors - red, yellow, green blue) you mentioned, could they be component? If yes then use them. I have component connection between my pc and tv and it blows every other method of connection I have used in the past.

What do I need to buy to use the component connection with my TV? This is a Media Centre PC so image quality is important .

u will need a tv that has component in, will need to be a recent or high end tv, most lcd's have component in, otherwise u will have to downmix to svideo or scart

My TV doesnt have component-in I dont think. I have RCA inputs though. What can I use to output the signal from my PC to my TV?

How old is your tv? Most tvs made in the last 10 years should have svideo input connectors. For you that would be the best possible connection.

My TV is just over a year old. What do svideo input connectors look like? Is it the white/red/yellow connectors?

White and red connectors are for your sound card. They provide the streo connection. The yellow connector is the composite connector. It provides the worst image quality possible. Avoid it at all cost. As you described earlier, there should be a connector on your tv with four circle holes and a rectangular hole (svideo input connector). If your tv doesn't have a svideo connector then you have two options.

Sabriel - Actually, before I answer that question could you please post a link pointing to the sort of card that you have? I just remembered why would a graphics card deal with sound connectors anyway. Usually tv gets its sound from the sound card and video from the graphics card.

My card was OEM, so it didnt come with any connectors. However, my 6600 did come with TV out cables. These cables fit the port on the card. The port looks like the middle one here:

I think I have confused you a little though. When I was talking about red/yellow/white, I was talking about the rca inputs on the side of my tv, the ones that the Xbox etc uses.

Ok, I 've got it now. Assuming that the tv input link you posted is from someone else's tv (which shows a svideo input btw) rather than yours, meaning that your tv lacks svideo input, then your only option (to get the best possible video) is to get the following .....

Scart Video Adapter S-VHS + Phono (to get the svideo input which your tv lacks)
