Dell monitor 2005fpw Version A01/A02 Awnser needed quicky Ps

Hi i am literally in the process of buying a new TFT but have found out that on this monitor (2005fpw) the A01 suffers less light leakage but have just found out that the one i am thinking of getting is actually a A02 Revision so would this be the one NOT to get or is it an even later better model than the A01 as surley it would'nt be the earlier? Sorry if i've confused you.

Also curious to see why the widescreen 2005fpw is only £10 dearer than the Std 2001 and thats sold out! Seems strange

I got one from this lot a few weeks ago. Was in pretty good condition with no dead pixels and scratches on the screen. Little bit of backlight bleed in the bottom left corner but its only visible when watching dvds if you're looking hard.

Just had a look at the back and mine is A01, July 2005.

Recieved mine 1 day after payment.......But Bad packing left me concerned and my concerns was warranted when i plugged it in 2 mins it was working ok then POP Phoned em up and they were Great they said it would be replaced next day So now this has left me thinking maybe should i just of paid the extra £120 and got a Brand new 21007FPW Because if that happened upon delivery hows it going to behave in the next year or 3

Note: If buying one of these monitors make sure you tell them to pack it properly and tell them to make sure they put a long DVI cabel in the box because i had one of the 16" cabels that are meant for the Dell PCs....But saying that again when i rang they immediately put a long one in the Post,so Exellent CS.

Got the new one this morning "I must say Aut really do have great CS and are true to there word! Anyway monitor is really nice & Bright doesnt seem to be any dead pixels (although i would not know what one is) And as for Bleeding how do i check for this?

There should be a dead pixel checker there. A dead pixel is basically a pixel that is stuck on one colour all of the time. I had one dead one with my last monitor that was blue when dark but fine when light. Doesn't make much odds if it is just one but any more than a few is annoying.

Backlight bleed is when the monitor backlight shines through the lcd when it is dark. Best way to check is to get something to make the screen black (probably one of those dead pixel testers) and then check the corners of the monitor for any light discolouration. Helps to have the room dark when you do it.
