    What do I...

Not a technical question as such, but its more a technical question than it is genral discussion nor is it hard stuff material.

I got an Arctic Cooling VGA cooler for the 6800GT / 7800GT, I bought it for my 7900GT and it pretty much fits all except for the aluminium plate that sits on top of the RAM modules...a row of capacitors are in the way of a small section of the metal plate.

So I was wondering if anyone could advise what tool I should use to cut a piece out of this...

Its made aluminum and its very light and feels kind of brittle hence why I'm asking for some assistance.

I'd imagine a fine / small-toothed saw blade would do the trick right?

Yup, either using a cut off disc, or one of the grinding attatchments should suit that sort of task fine

make sure and clean the edges up, you don't want to cut yourself. Also amke sure aluminium flecks are all removed before installing. Metal Filings in PCs are not good.

you have ram modules on the back of your 7900gt? That heatspreader was for 7800gtx's that had modules on the back of the card...I wouldn't use it on anything without those modules your likely to short something out.

    i.e.
