Hi,
My laptop is connected wirelessly to a Broadband router. My desktop is connected, also wirelessly, to the same router. I previously had all of my music on a 300Gb SATA IcyBox, connected to my laptop, but have since fitted that drive into my desktop and so now wirelessly access those music files from my desktop, via the router. Through some form of black magic, Media player still finds my music files even though they are now shared on the network instead of being on the removable drive. So that's good. Thing is, during playback, media player will pause for about 10 seconds every 3 minutes or so. It replaces the media player logo in the title bar with the little white box that non-responding programs give, and media player will be totally knackered for those 10 seconds, before going back to normal.
Signal strength is full, and network access to the files on the desktop seems fine, a bit slow occasionaly, but there are 300Gb of files on that drive, so that can be expected!
Any ideas? It really annoys me when my music skips!
Thanks, and sorry about the long winded and complicated post!
