    Zalman vf700-Cu brace plate

Just installed my shiny new vf700-Cu to an X800GTO, saw my temps drop by 14deg idle, and everything fine and dandy. Then I saw the brace plate lying on the side of the table How important is the brace plate? Will I be ok without it or should I go through the whole process again just to attach it?! I can't imagine it adds that much more security, however I could be wrong...

If it wasnot really needed than Zalman would not have included it in the kit. It probably gives extra stabilty to stop the heatsink moving and damaging the fixing slots that the screw/bolts pass through and thus the card.

If it was me I would take out and place the brace on.
