    Wireless network help

    Hey,

Just a simple question. My friend bought a Linksys WRT54GS router, and the adsl modem to go with it. Is it possible to set up a wireless network with these without connecting the router directly to a computer? I thought you could, but I got an email from him saying that the instructions say you need to connect them to a pc.

    Thanks

    Hi,

You will need a wired connection to the router to configure it correctly as setting all the security etc will just disconnect the wireless connection all the time.

After it is configured you no longer need the wired connection.

Thanks . I've only just seen the reply now, but I went round to his house today and got everything set up. I did just need to connect the modem and router to a pc via ethernet to config them at first.
