opening a hdd in my computer

Every time i open my movie hdd to change a name or whatever it starts to list then just stops the whole system. Cpu usage goes up to 100% and i get dumprep.exe in my task manager. When i close this and terminate the window to my movie hdd everything is fine again. No problem if i access the drive via flash fxp, only via my computer. Drive tune seems to say the drive is ok. Its not the end of the world, just very annoying. Any ideas?

Try this:
regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll

Might be because windows try to read all your movie files (i.e. previewing) so it eats up all your cpu, memory and hdd access time.
