Earphones problem

Hi everybody!
I've got a problem with my Sony earphones. One of them doesn't produce a sound. I've been wondering whether something is wrong with the earphones or a sound card? Could anybody give me advice?

if u turn the volume up very loud, you can usually hear the amplified noise signal coming through the headphones, its a fuzzy sound. If you cant hear this then i'd suggest getting a new pair of headphones. If you can, its the output from whatever ur listening to

Make sure that they are fully plugged into the socket as if it is only half pushed in then only one earphone will work.
