X-Fi Music not being detected by drivers / WinXP

I bought an X-Fi Music card from another forum member, but I can't get it work.

WinXP detects it as a "Multimedia Audio Device" but when I install the Creative Drivers, the card simply isn't detected by the drivers which simply say that there is no hardware installed that supports this software.

I've tried the CD drivers and also the latest drivers off the website.

I understand that a few people have had similar problems with these X-Fi cards being detected. I'm running an NF4 Asus SLI Premium (BIOS 1009).

Is this problem involving X-Fi cards not being detected a known issue?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Cheers for the link fella.

What an absolute hassle Creative are. Glad to know that more than 10 years after the SoundBlaster16, they're still producing cards with compatibility problems.....

Might be scuppered though, since looks as if I have a OEM card
