BIOS Setting Lost!

Ooookkkkk, recently did a BIOS flash and everything seemed to be fine until I went away to Manchester for the weekend. I got back and started the system up and all manner of beep cdes screaming at me, realised that the BIOS had gone back to standard settings. re did all the settings and went to work, powered down the system and switched the PSU off, got back from work and the problem happend again.

Is this just the battery on it's way out or is something more serious the matter. Mobo is only a year old.

could be the battery, get a new battery and see if it fixes the problem, there don't cost much, got mine from local hardware shop iirc

Try resetting the BIOS first, pull the battery out for a minute or so (or there might be a jumper you can move) and then see what happens. I've seen all manner of weird problems occur after updating the BIOS and not resetting it.
