About LinkBacksdid a format about 2 hours ago, had to update WMP and asked to restart, did the restart now im getting nothing from my G5, no laser light or anything, tried diff usb ports aswell

Plug it into another PC... That will tell you if the mouse has died or not or if you have a driver problem with your own PC (doubt it though).
AMD X2 @ 2.6Ghz, X1800XL @ 540/600
if you cant fix it and it turns out to be dead, logitech support at quite good, should get a replacement.
dont know why that would cause it to die though.
over-volting of the USB bus perhaps?
