Installed .NET Framework and now I have to logon - help

I'm a single user on a computer and when I switched on in the past I never needed to login - Windows would boot and everything would load up.

I've had to install the .NET framework 1.1 (& hotfix) and now I have to login on the welcome screen each time. This is really frustrating as it now requires user intervention before Windows loads (v slow on this Dell 2.8Ghz P4, 256Mb RAM!)

Is there anything I can do to avoid this?

upgrade to version 2.0

v2 is not an upgrade, v1.1 and v2 coexist, and this will not change the logon issue. Found this tho;

1) Go to the Start Menu and the Run box.

2) Type in the following:

control userpasswords2

now click OK

3) In the new Windows that appears select the account you wish to make the primary logon.

Now uncheck the "Users must enter a username and password..." box.

4) Hit Apply and a dialog box will appear asking you to confirm the selected users password.

Click OK when you are done!
That's it! You are now finished.....

upgrading to v2.0 while running ati/ccc fixed the logon issuse, however if it is the xfx in sig, then the above may help

no D3fiant - you were right!

The Dell in question has integrated graphics and the reason for installing .Net was to get Microsoft's SyncToy working. It doesn't work with .Net v2 (which I also installed)

However your fix (well you get the credit anyhow) worked a treat!
