How much difference in performance would there be between a core2duo system with 2gb of 533mhz ram and 2gb or ram running at 900mhz? would the difference be worth the £100 it would cost extra?
My brother is thinking of buying a Mesh PC and would like to know if it makes a reasonable difference.

I'm not sure about the performance difference but if he ever wanted to overclock his system the fast the memory the better as it has to be able to keep up with the FSB.
What Core2Duo chip is in the system? E6300?
Well as its a mesh system the components will not be aimed toward overclocking for example the motherboard. Therfore there is little point in getting the faster ram. So, get the 533, it will make no difference unless you overclock.

the system he is thinking of getting would be the E6600 (2.4ghz)
he wouldn't be overclocking I would have thought, his pc at the moment has an Athlon XP 2500+ Barton with an unlocked multiplier and he still refuses to overclock it.
I would agree and say save the money. Seems such a shame not to oc tho!
