    Thumbs down Sony Sonic Stage!!

    Hi,

Everytime i open sonic stage the application just flickers and freezes straight away...

i have tried restoring my PC
installed the version it came with
    installed the latest version
checked i have all the latest windows updates

I have also tried MP3 file manager and as soon as i open that it crashes as well

it just seems like everything i try to do that relates to me putting music on swapping some music over on my mp3 player doesnt want to work

Oooo and its a E407 if that helps

    Help!

I HATE that program. It crashes my computer like hell. I think it just uses ALL of your processing power.
    With love and many thanks,

I have a Sony 8gb player and I hate the sonic stage software aswell. Guess I should have looked at some reviews before I bought it, can any other software be used to transfer music onto the player at all?

Have you tried the latest version of SonicStage?.. "SonicStage CP (vers 4.0)"

As that may fix your problem.

I have had so many issues with the software, it has so many bugs/problems which aren't addressed. With this latest version though it's usable unlike previous ones!

sonic stage 4.0 (CP) has been the worst for me up until then it has just about been managable, now... it crashes every time I open it and ive given up completly trying to upload music onto my mp3 player, shame really I liked my HD5, 20gigs of goodness with a ridiculous battery life

looks like when i next get a new MP3 player, either apple or creative will be getting my money.

Sonic Stage turned me of Sony products, first it wrecked my expensive minidisc recorder and when you unstall it, it causes so many problems that you have to reinstall it to stop the error messages appearing

Are there any alternatives for a NW E005?

Even better if it could support unicode filenames.....

I have quite a large collection of music with Chinese filenames with SS doesn't allow me to transfer these unless I edit the names and sometimes even the tags...
    Woohoo now Assistant Manager!

The latest version of SonicStage CP is now 4.2 or 4.3. It fixed a boat load of problems with previous release, and I now actually don't mind using it, unbelievably!

I've got the NW-A3000 player.....you guys should have tried using the CONNECT software that came with this puppy.....honestly, I don't how Sony can live with themselves releasing such utter C**P. It took almost 24hrs for me to transfer about 3gb of songs when I first got it.

It seems to be a common theme with all their hardware.
