    Dell Inspiron power problem

    I am repairing a Inspiron 600 for a friend because it wont charge or run from the power cord.

    I have dissasembled the product to see if there is any visable damage but i cannot see any,

    possibble ideas/ experiences??

    Could be something as simple as a break in the cable, the only way to find out is by using another psu. If it still does not work then it will be the lappy. strip this down if you feel like it , you may find a loose connection if not then capacitor could be goosed.

    I stripped it all done as i cant get a differnt psu to try untill tomorrow (ill try this psu onanother laptop) and i cant see any damage and the guy said his last psu failed which suggests they may be of poor quality.

    dell psu's are usually quite good and effcient although i have had one fail on me before. the light was still on but no one was at home
