    Cannot see RAID?

Okay I am having some problems. I have two new SATA hard drives. (I have a Raptor I am using for my Windows install that is working fine). The drives are Western Digital 250 GB WD2500KS. If I just plug them in normally I can get them to work no problems but I cannot get them into a RAID 0 and working. Mobo is the K8N Neo4-F. I originally had PATA RAID drivers installed for my two old drives which I am not using anymore but no SATA RAID drivers.

I can enable the SATA RAID on the board and it can see and will let me RAID 0 the two drives. Once that is completed I can see the RAID in the BIOS but not once I get to windows.

    Any suggestions?

That is what I kind of figured. I didn't know they were called fakeraid drivers but I was thinking I might be screwed since I didn't install during OS install time.

I think I might just start over from scratch. All my registry setting from all the programs on the drive that failed is making it a pain when trying to uninstall/reinstall some programs so it might be easier to start over completely.

My Raptor is probably about 5 years old (my main drive). Is this something I should consider replacing so that I don't have problems with it failing too or do you think it is reliable enough to justify using it until failure?

Thanks for the help so far!

Basically you need to install the nvRAID drivers that come on the CD that came with your motherboard - this should allow the OS to see the array.

They're not it's just directhex being sarcastic because it's software driven RAID - splash is right (and a bit more helpful) with nVRAID. Before you ask _yes_ software RAID is still worth having.

w00t. That DID work. Thank you very much. After reading your post it seemed so obvious. For some reason I kept wanting to install drivers from WD and it did not occur to me that the drivers I need are going to be with the mobo not the drivers.

Thanks for your help everyone - it is now working!!
