Glad to see they are still around, I Bought my very first PC from Mesh.
If I remember correctly the CPU was an AMD 700 mhz single core jobby.

Technically the original Mesh went bust and another company bought the rights to the name, but according to Wikipedia, the original owner was later appointed as a Director of the company that acquired the assets.

Re: Win a Mesh Elite 8600K gaming rig

Gamemax logo on the shroud is a bit obnoxious, given the rather more toned down styling everywhere else in the case.
But that's easily covered up later with a bit of vinyl or something.

But a rather nice system, and one that would be very welcome.

I'm not glad to see it. It suggests screening by age and thus potential filtering/discrimination based on age. I think it's a joke they ask for it. If it's a truly random draw what difference does it make?

Mesh 30 years old? Surprising to hear that. I understood they went bust a good few years back. If someone has bought the brand name and restarted then good luck to them, but if so that is not 30 years of continuous trading. Hopefully they'll do a better job however than my old Mesh machine (which was my first PC too). Roared like a jet plane in use. Some of the innards were, how do we put this, they appear to have been down-specced to get the budget down to within the PCPro must be under £x-hundred. Let's hope this new breed have a built with a bit move love. Weirdly I can still remember the name of the lady in their sales dept who helped me with the order - and then called me to substitute a different monitor from the advertised one. Bizarre the things that stick in the mind hey?

Re: Win a Mesh Elite 8600K gaming rig

They want almost £500 for a 6GB 1060!!?. All I can say is consumers will not forget those who price gouged the most after tech crypto bubble bursts, local petrol station went bankrupt after the petrol strike, people did not forget their price hikes.

Well I can hope, but a large chunk of the GPU buyers are not what one would call savvy consumers.

I'm fairly sure the age thing is about targetted marketing... It pays to know your customers would be more interested in more mature products.
