This was regarding Edgy Eft, and they were instructions specifically for my laptop, so I assume it doesn't work out of the box. It all looked far too convoluted to bother with, particularly considering that last time I tried Linux, SUSE completely messed up LILO installation leaving me with a headache, broken internet and a Windows partition that wouldn't work...

I like Ubuntu, from the time I tried dual-booting. Were it not for the fact that it's little, if any use for gaming, I'd probably run it. As it is, I'm forced to stick with Windows if I want my PC gaming fix. In the future, in an ideal world, I'd have one computer for gaming solely, and a PC running Ubuntu or some other Linux variant. As it is, this ain't going to happen for a good few years, as dual-booting's too much hassle for my liking.

Hey, what about the release of Debian Etch? It's due to be released in December 2006...

The one thing I think Ubuntu lacks is a nice selection of configuration utilities e.g. for editing X.

Im hoping that Feisty Fawn restores my faith in Ubuntu.
I dipped into Linux with the LTS release and thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. Then i moved to 6.10 a few months later, and i dont know what it was, but it was un-usable to me. Not a clue why though.
