I can see where you are coming from, and perhaps I was a little rude. As for the mention of steam being similar earlier, my friends have problems with it all the time so I'm not sure its all that great to be frank. As a result I've been put off using it. Potentially live for windows could well be a little app like xfire and if thats all it is, I will be a little disappointed. Here's hoping it won't be!

However, xbox.com doesn't sit in the background and display a message when a contact comes on line/sends a game invite/message etc... and basicly work like you're actually sat at your 360.
XBList is a useful program which does, but it doesn't run too well in x64 Vista (and I'm hoping Live! anywhere will have a sidebar widget).
