Its very similar to the Asus one but there are some subtle differences, could it be an 8600 or is it too early?

Not the 8800gts (as the link shows) - the "VCI" tag is in the wrong place.

Probably ASUS though..

thought it was, the gts pic didnt match the original one. i'm guessing its a BFG one.

Isn't it possible for it to be a motherboard, I would guess the Asus Corsair mobo.
