Apple offers Safari browser for Windows - and it's fast!

The latest beta of Apple's Safari 3.0 web browser is available now - and in a version for Windows, as well as for Macs!

Apple claims that Safari - a free download (28.1MB) - is faster to load and use than the three big-name Windows web browsers (Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 2 and Opera 9) and offers a whole bunch of worthwhile features.

We've only used Safari in anger for a few hours but that's been long enough to confirm that it is fast - surprisingly so for a beta.

Installed this and all I can say is WOW!

Its fast and looks fantastic. I love the way it selects the current forum field, and the progress bar while a page is loading.

This really is very very cool.

Now all we need is an ad-blocker plugin and I will throw that slow firefox in the bin

Yes it is fast. Going to try it on an old slow win 98 machine now.

Apple's benchmark's are seriously dodgy - it's slow as heck compared to Opera 9 for me..

Hi,

I am new to this forum. I have a requirement to invoke safari browser from VB Script by passing a URL.

I am able to invoke a safari browser url using command line option
safari.exe -url "url"
but for subsequent calls I need to invoke a url in new tab of existing safari browser. I tried to change the preferences settings in safari browser but al in vain. Kindly help me out.
