Nick, thats a pretty interesting comment.
I'd been holding of getting an Xbox 360 for a while to see what happened with the elite setup - I quite liked the idea of a simple hdmi connection and I have plenty spare on my tv, the bigger disk was a "nice" factor but not a must have. Now that its had its price announced, I find the price of £300+ a tad much and the current premium package is listed on scan at £266, and the elite at £329 from game is a £63 difference.
So I guess the question is. "is £63 worth a 100 gig hard disk update, a HDMI cable and port and a black paint job."
When I look at it like that, its not a terribly bad deal, yes the hard disk is a rip off, but its microsoft bundled/packaged, the hdmi cable and socket are probably worth a good £20 on the console price and a little bit of consemtic update for the customer who fancies something a little bit different or for someone whos not yet bought an xbox like myself, £60 doesn't seem a massive rip off, but looking at the prices of £200 and £300 which is how most people do, it looks bad.
I think I'll still plump for one despite my sceptisism.
