I suppose it's hard to keep coming up with new features to a design that is already idolised by so many.
I like the look of the iPod Touch - and of course good to see the price drop on the iPhone - just feel sorry for all the early adopters.
It's clear that the 16GB will come to the iPhone very soon...
Is 16GB enough for a flagship product? I realise the limitations imposed by deciding to use Flash but I'm disappointed with the capacity.

I'd love to see more - but for the moment surely it's enouhg?
32GB would have been acceptable, 16GB isn't enough, at least not for me and I'm sure the same is true for many other people.
laze.

Using base 2 capacities, it's going to need 128GB to get my interested
oh, of course
I'll probably replace my Archos AV500-100GB with a 160gb+ 605 or a 606 when they are inevitably released
also it would be nice if it could actually stream UpNp stuff make up for the cronic lack of storage, or become a uPnP remote, or just be something other than pointlessly poor battery life'd brick?

The battery life is pretty strong but you are right re storage
Thing is - it's not ever going to be simple to pick an iPod... too many choices
Naaaaah.
laze.

This is good news but its also a shame that more companies out there arent matching the capacity offered by the Apple Ipod range with the exception of Arcos (only one I know of). Creative are a culprit in this, the zen vision M is only available in 30 GB and 60 GB flavours?
But digit, why is that bad?
High volume isn't something that most manufactures can count on, apple know that people refer to hard disk music players as "ipods" just like portable casset players where "walkmans". As such, they can stick out any old tripe and people will buy it.
The product range is basically a case of:
I'm cheap - Shuffle
I'm not so cheap - Nano
....
I'm *really* *really* stupid - iPhone
This is no different to a coffee shop having different prices for different coffees (ok people might notice i'm stealing some of Tim Harfords logic) you've got plain express, an americano (extra 10p) a cappachino (extra 20p) and so forth.
Its about been able to milk as much money as possible. Myself, as i'd tend to either go for the smallest in dimesnions or the largest in capacity (never apple thou, i like a battery life) this dosen't appeal, because we loose the money saved in mass production, you can have your ford any colour you like, as long as its black.

Actually, until this new iPod, the Archos 604 and 605 were the only ones i'd seen with 160gb drives. So Apple is just catching up really
You see loads of cool looking PMPs on the likes of Engadget, but they all have 30GB or 60GB drives at the most. Although, the 605 being a DVR is a good reason for it to hve a huge drive.
