How is any of that useful?Here are some of the changes you'll see in 9.0:
* Sign-in and messaging in multiple locations - be logged into Messenger from more than one computer at the same time!
* Signature sounds - choose the sound your friends here when you log in, and customise the sounds you hear in Messenger
* Animated display pictures

I thought being able to sign in at multiple locations could be handy, but htid is spot on about the other two features.
It could be quite useful if you've got a 360, as live logs you in on that, and out on your PC. To have both available is quite useful imho.
Same as if you have a HTPC, and laptop or desktop which you need to be logged into.
Or even a virtual machine withn windows!

I've just checked and yep, you can pick any sound to play. There are a selection of provided simple clips but you can browse to any mp3/wma file and it actually has a nifty little editor that'll help you select up to 4 seconds of a song and add fade in or out if you want to.That could be hilarious and/or very annoying if you can pick any sound to play

yep, and with a bit of modifying the ad's would be out of sight too
The first two would be great for me. I'm often signed-in in multiple locations - the lab, the office, home pc/lap etc. Sounds when people log on is great too - pidgin does that now and it can be very handy if you're waiting for someone to get online and don't want to explictly watch your IM client.

Got it, no different to the older version, jut eating more memory up.....
Most of that MSNPlus will do already (except multi-locations)
