ROFLCopter. I'll take my Dell XPS420 at £560 (Q6600, X30, 8800GT512, 640gb RAIDed hard drives) plus add in any decent 24" monitor of choice over that pile of pantsy-poo.

The ultimate gaming machine having an 8600GT? LOL

And is 8gb RAM really needed yet?

They are simply marketing it as high end because they stuck loads of ram in it while ram prices are very low; which isn't bad marketing cause there are loads of not-so-literate computer fans out there that think ram is everything.

Looks like the case is ashamed to be there by the face it's pulling.

What I think is also quite amusing is that the 8600GT that is fitted only has DDR2 memory onboard not even GDDR3, so it will be nice and slow that with its 128bit bus as well

Re: Computer Supermarket really likes its Ultimate Gaming package

Initially i thought this looked like a good rig with the 8gig and quad core.. But this is like every other company they always skimp on the detail.. so what its got 8gig, thats about 200 for a good latency, i bet its not! also the quad core is about 155..
for a gaming rig you need a good graphics card.. 8600 will be rubbish in 6 months, if not already..
4 gig and 2x 8600 might have been better ""gaming"" option..

even 2 x 8600 would still suck. 1 8800gt would pwn them both.

It was the first machine to incorporate an Intel Quad Core Q6600 CPU
somehow i find that hard to believe.

Don't even think about buying from this company!
Unfortunately, we did but soon cancelled our order, we have just managed to get a refund from them following the threat of court action.
You would be better buying from PC World!!! (That's saying something....)

Its ugly as sin as well, it looks cheap and tacky in the photograph.

I to would like to see Hexus do a review of this, you could even create a special Hexus "award" especially for the occasion.
