Microsoft have got it right. Make a shoddy console that has a life span of 6 months before needing an RMA, that stops people from risking it.

    lol...

and before people jump on my back I have a 360 and its fantastic, shame about the failure rate.

yes, if you check a games charts for high ranking DS games prepared to be dissapointed. The console is swamped with cheap games with hardly any production shine, or longevity built in.

Check any Pro Evo game on the DS, you'd be mad to spend £30 on it, but some people may be tempted to D/L it to see just how bad it is.

id go as far as to say that some GBA games had more depth and thought put into them than some of the dross on the DS which is clearly aimed as those with no sense of gameplay, but parents with deep pockets!

Re: R4 chip brings Nintendo DS piracy to an all time high

Piracy aside, the homebrew that people are making for the DS at the moment is getting very good..

Things like a port of Transport Tycoon, Crayon Physics, mp3 and video players, etc. The DS is almost a perfect barebones system to fiddle with and the mass availability of flash cards makes it possible.

Personally i think this has been very overinflated. 90%?

I don't think so, i would doubt that the number of users pirating DS games in the UK is around and if not under 50%. Of course it doesn't help that Amazon lists the R4 on their website and it's readily available on the internet along with many other flash devices.. And it's not like Nintendo are taking a loss.. over Christmas at GAME, the DS charts were constantly sold out, we had to jam the charts full of buy one get one free just to make the store look presentable.
