    The kernel is just a file replacement job apparently... surprised me too (going off a Microsoft bod on another forum, so I'm just relaying what I've heard). The kernel is to all intents and purposes the same as Server 2008, which looks quite tasty itself.

    I'm looking forward to SP1 myself, but it is just a roll-up of patches with a few tweaks in there.

    practically the whole of the kernel can update itself without restarting. Very impressive. If only the usermode developers would keep up!
