what's really anoying is that the samsung TVs all support goto input n commands over IR.

So any other remote can send them straight to that source. Oh well!

    Sky Plus box!

Gah, it drives me mad. It should let you input the time you wish to record something manually. Quite often it cuts off the end or the beginning of a TV show.

I now record the two programmes either side of the one I want to record just to be on the safe side.

I've got another one. My dishwasher that doesn't stop beeping when it has finished its washing cycle.

I understand it beeping a few times to let you know that it's done, but the machine won't stop beeping until you open it and turn it off completely. I therefore can't turn it on before going to sleep at night or it'll be beeping 'till morning.

I have a washing machine that did this...

Read the manual - In the end I found a way to disable it that involved holding down a pair of buttons for 5 seconds.

I was so glad when I found how to turn the beeping off. God knows why they add this feature to modern appliances. I would have ripped the buzzer out if I hadn't have found how to disable it. One hell of a stupid "feature"

Aw Fraz, you got me all excited there. Just had a look through the dishwasher manual though and there's no mention of disabling the beeping.

Not too sure if this will be classed as one, but.....

the wii strap on a wii remote, if only it was on the side of the remote.... If oftens blocks the charging connection when using 3rd party remote chargers such as Nyko and 4gamers (I think it was... etc)
Same goes for the plastic casing again provided by Ninteno......
    Woohoo now Assistant Manager!

Re: Little annoyances on otherwise useful gadgets

I'd agree on that Samsung remote; my 40" screen has the same remote and it's annoying as hell. I wouldn't change a single thing about the screen, it's gorgeous, but the remote? I can see a Logitech Harmony in my immediate future .

That aside; I LOVE my HTC Touch Dual, and like any slider phone it picks up an incoming call when you slide it open. It DOESN'T drop the call when you close it. Fortunately, there's an unofficial fix for this at XDA-developers which works very well. Ferrex FTW!
