Hmmm... think I'd prefer the nipple. Not to mention that I mainly use a Mac, and that AutoHotKey is for Windows. Might give it a looksee though - taa!

Yep - used to have a T41p with a nipple.

Currently making do with a Dell D810 (!), but still make use of the nipple over the trackpad any day of the week.

I disappoints me how many manufacturers *don't* see fit to include a nipple (yes I know there's licensing fees involved).

Re: Lenovo launches ultra-thin ThinkPad X300

someone really needs to give kudous to Intel for managing to actually do all the development to allow these ultra-thin laptops.

Obviously, this is far better for anyone who wants a portable, non removeable battery, with such awful life as the macbook air starts with, imagine how bad it would be after 6 months use in anger. Costs less too.

Macbook air would only be better for posing, for people who wanted the message to be "i know nothing about laptops, and have no work to do". Where's a paris hilton emoticon when you need one.

Re: Lenovo launches ultra-thin ThinkPad X300

I don't see why anyone would buy an Air unless they really liked how they look.

Personally I think the Mac styling isn't that great - they seem more like a advert for Apple than styling itself... The Lenvo notebooks have alot of class - more 'form through function'.

When you start to consider the functionality.... there really is no contest.

Anyway whats the deal with a thin laptop? I have never though mmm my laptop is to thick? To big, to heavy or to slow but never too thick.

If you fly a lot you don't want your laptop taking up any more room that in needs to which is why business people often take sony over other manafacturers as they are very focussed on this area.

I use this all the time (actually I'm now using a blue nipple on a Dell, but the principle applies). Touchpads are awful in comparison.

Re: Lenovo launches ultra-thin ThinkPad X300

I honestly think that is bull crap... you don't embrace sacrifice for thinner laptops. Yes you expect a little sacrifice but not the point were you only have one usb and if you wanna use the cd drive you now nolonger have a USB... Batteries don't last forever either. What if your flight is long and you would run out of power well a fully charged backup battery would come in handy. And i know there are adapters to use power cords on planes but then thats the only place you can use it. At least with an extra battery you can use it elsewhere like in meetings and stuff if you need to. Macbook air is not crap its really cool... it has however too many shortcomings to be completely usable. Sure if you only want to type stuff up your good but i mean you can't use a usb drive and a cd drive at the same time... the little thing that has the usb and headphone jack is not the easiest to get to and all this other stuff that i am sure others have gone over. No the macbook air's main objective was not to put a MBP inside a tiny tiny case but you need to put some more basic functionality. I am not a Mac hater or anything i love macs... but the Macbook air was a disapointment... If i am going to spend 3k about i want some basic functionality. And they were all like well if you need to use discs you can install over the network... thats been able to be done for AGES!! and as said this is a computer for mobility i won't have a tower to install things or run things etc etc so yea. I am done talking myself in circles. But seriously that is sooo bull we do not accept sacrifice at least no where near that degree. I will never embrace the Macbook air... nope... Nice try apple, i love you but no...
And i used the nipple once upon a time awhile ago... i like it quite a bit, i wouldn't say it destroys the touchpad though.
