Re: Headlines - Mozilla CEO slams Apple Safari move

Mine popped up just as I was reading the article (the software "update", nothing else ).

Whilst I don't approve of of it being selected by default (very sneaky), it's not as though it's installed without permission. If it were to make itself the default browser then I'd be very concerned, but it doesn't, it doesn't even launch itself.

It's ultimately down to the user what they're installing and ensuring they check each stage of the installation. I don't see that it's any different to an application asking if you'd like to have the GahoogleY toolbar installed along with it.
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good
scaryjim: 10" is just a little large to hold comfortably in one hand, which makes it a lot harder to tap, swipe and generally interact with.

Yes it is down to the user but the thig is a lot of people are nto 100% computer literate as you me or many of the others on this forum are and they dont fully understand what they are doing when installing software. Tactics used by apple, google and any number of more questionable companies to get their software onto peoples computers usually end up cluttering, slowing down and possibly adjusting peoples settings making their life all the more awkward when there is just no need for it whatsoever. I would like to say that im ashamed of apple for using this kind of technique but its not unlike them to use dirty tricks at all.
