Someone wanna send me a woman that I can wax lyrical about fsb's, hypertransport, shaders and tweaking the hell out of PC's then?

I try to stem my geekiness somewhat when out as some folks might have seen but in the end my love for hardware comes through

It all depends on how they obtained the data, ofcourse. If the sample was taken through a medium that favoured already tech-savvy women (for example, tech websites, tech jobs, volunteers) the results might be quite skewed.

It wouldn't surprise me though... Some women have a cell phone for each hand bag, and they know how to operate it better than most men. Online chatting, blogging, anything related to communications... Digital cameras, mp3 players... All "lifestyle" products where the interest isn't the technical side in and of itself. As long as it's something they can use for their own purposes in their own strange "female" world.

Hardcore technical interest... not so much.

    duodecim, the group states:

"The special analysis is based on trending interviews with 1,508 online U.S. women between October 06 and November 07, complemented by 517 additional interviews in February 08. The sample for the study represents the regional, age and ethnic make-up of the U.S. women’s online population on a proportionate to population basis."

Not exactly the most informative description, but there it is.

When I see ladies talking about gaming when walking down the street, then I'll believe it.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
