I put my time into them as and when a game comes out from them I want to play. So go buy all and you can do the same. I look at it like my wife's shoe buying. She doesn't need all of them but has all the options available for any occasion.

each to their own dude, dont justify what your into to a bunch of randoms from a from a forum. TBH if i could afford it i would have 3 consoles and a spec PC so i could rock Metal Gear, Bioshock, Maro Kart and Warcraft when i chose - but i cant afford it, so kudos my friend

You seem to miss the point that my posts are about my tastes in games. Not everyone likes the same types of games! Just because I own consoles it does not mean I like Mario platform games, MGS or Ikaruga. At the moment there are very few games that interest ME! And yes, I have played many of them, often from their first versions on the modern stream of consoles (I will admit I have never played MGS on the MSX...).

I never said there was only 2 types of game (I gave a few examples). However I only like certain types of game. That is only my point and I am not trying to make a point for anyone else. I am pickly about what I play and there are very few games coming out on the 360 either that I am thinking of getting this year either. I think I still have the right to own consoles. Even if I can't get anywhere near them because my wife is constantly playing Losy Odyssey at the moment. Lets just hope she finishes that before FF13 or a similar game appears.
