hmm, i bought gears of war for my 360 at gamestation and im <18 . They shouldnt try and crack down on this, instead concentrate on drinking and stuff, if your gunna kill some1 after playing a game then you need togo to a mental house, same with films really. Online retailers could get fined loads , i bought atleast 20 online. Heck i even bought rambo 4 and got it on friday (20th) from zavvi .

edit: wow laods of smilies .

There was a queue of 15 yr olds picking up GTA IV at Gamestation. Let them get on with it. It's better than wandering the streets, happy slapping and the like

Re: Headlines - Shock! Horror! UK traders selling violent games to minors

the thing i dont get is that, as soon as a murder or something violent has happened and the person who caused it has played a video game in his/hers life time then its game to blame, its wrong pure and simple. Id rather say a film has more of an impact than a game, you see how the character develops in the film and what happens as apposed to a game. At least with games you dont see kids goin around and punching people in the face because they wont sell them the game, with drink you probably would lol.

Also, drinking is terrible. Asda were doing a 3 x 25 (or is it 20?) crates of beer for ~£17, now i see people outside morrisons with loads of crates and its like, how much do you drink? doubt youd get drunk on that (joke).

I don't think many people say that - even the government's own review was very clear that there wasn't a link.

This is just about enforcement of adult-only content and it's no different from selling drinks/pron to underaged kids - the fact that it happens so much probably indicates that they actually *do* have their priorities right and are focusing more on more serious offenses.

the penalties for it should be (legally) the same as for DVD

did trading standards look itno people getting ahold of 28-rated movies, or just single out games?
