    3do-tastic!

it's not unheard of outside the 3do scenario (e.g. http://www.ntsc-uk.com/feature.php?f...fea=PanasonicQ), and it might give other companies an opening to fix some of the 360's major defects (depending on how similar they are - e.g. moving the optical drive would help, but not as much as some motherboard reshuffling

Combine that with MS buying Sega and the Live 'port' of DC Soul Calibur/Ikaruga. Sega Terradrive 360 for Japan? you heard it rumoured here first.

    Other ex-gameconsole makes to resurrect:

    Atari, SNK, Panasonic, Commodore, Bandai.

SNK would be mint if they came back. The gamecube gets hammered recently with SNK vs capcom.

Tbh I would be happy with a 2D fighting revival, forget this 3D stuff, I was 2D and silly combo's that last for several minutes xD

hmmm a BluRay player that sounds like a jet engine taking off... ?

No wait, that's what we'll get soon when there is a Blu Ray 360 ...

Meh, the whole idea doesnt excite me or won't until Microsoft silence that noisy console-cum-vacuum-cleaner

the PC Engine is an old japanese games console also known as the turbografx-16. he's not talking about actual PC innards

but you ARE right. look up the Amstrad Mega-PC.

Re: Headlines - Microsoft to allow third party Xbox 360 manufacturers?

its intresting because for the first time i think we've got a bit of a platow in performance. Basically we don't really need any more. The graphics difference between a 9800 and a 260 just aren't that great. (I'm not for a second saying they're aren't gains still to be made thou!)

so if MS are hoping to get the lifespan the PS2 enjoyed from its hardware they could be on to a real winner, it will become cheaper and smaller to make, the posability of it been intograted into 'everyday' devices increases.

the problem is they don't want to risk computability issues, so thats a great excuse to ensure everyone buys your motherboards.
