Re: Previews - BFG (NVIDIA) GeForce 9800 GT: what's in a name?

Nvidia cards need more ram for AA and higher res

ATI cards 48x0 up do it on the card it self so 512mb is norm big enough (thay fixed the AA on the 4000 cards at last)

most games will not use more then 500mb of texture ram (if it did it have to use system ram)

not tryed Quake 4 for some time does the Ultra setting on that game use more then 512mb texture set

Why add to the 9 series when it's old versions? the GTX should be where they are concentrating

    It's 4.98*

Re: Previews - BFG (NVIDIA) GeForce 9800 GT: what's in a name?

Well the price for these start at £92 at scan and thats leadtek and the most expensive is the asus at £129, no bfg on pre-order. Gigabyte is £120 and that is stock clocks, asus has 2ghz memory 725mhz gpu instead of 1800/600/.
Noticed the 8800GT's are starting from £107, i saw a zotac amp edition 8800 for only £88 delivered from like ebuyer or something, prices have gone up?
