I can sort of understand it not working with the 20gb model, you would be lucky to rip 2 games to it, but it seems silly if it's not going to work with the 120gb.

yeah, i'm pretty sure they'll make it available to all models of xbox

I might be alone on this assumption but wouldnt piracy increase because of this? it would act more like a pc from my understanding just like how a pc isntalls the game but requires a disk to play, people would just simply get a no cd crack or something to stop that and so they have a game playable on the hard drive. Seems that 360 is near its end in my opinion, this is a simple extension strat and so lure the rest of people in with flashy design and then they discontinue it, as most things work like that . Could be good but consoles still far behind pcs, if they go any further then people would just buy a pc because its better in general, they will become more unreliable .

Speeds up loading by around 30% from what I can remember reading. I'll be happier with the fact there won't be any more disc spinning noise

As far as piracy goes you can already copy 360 games if you want to mess about with a chipped console that can't be used online. I don't think this is going to increase piracy on the 360 by any notable margin.

You also need the disc in to start the game, and the xbox can recognise a proper game

thanks, that clears alot up then lol. Im not really with the design in consoles as i work just with pcs and dont play on consoles . 30% is a good amount, lets hope it really affects realworld performance.

The reason the 60gb hd was mentioned is because the 60gb xbox360 is due out this month. Apparently the 20GB models are being phased out.
I think it's a step in the right direction - hopefully cuts down on drive noise & laser wear & tear.

It's not available seperate yet AFAIK, im getting a 120gb one anyway

If I do need to buy the 60gb version to use the new feature then I hope it works on the 120gb as well. Would rather pay a little more for the 120gb.

It should work on all models (20/60/120GB). I doubt Microsoft would restrict it to just the 60GB model when customers already have the Premium or Elite.
