Where's the panasonic 3DO on that list ?

I whittled away many hours playing Gex and various other games on it which resorted to my SNES getting put on the shelf of doom and hardly being used again.

tek nik lee, the 3do isn't panasonic-specific. much like dvd players, 3do decks were made by multiple people. units shipped from not only panasonic, but lg and sanyo.

What if, alot of the people voting didn't actually have an older console?

Got a chance mate, although if that is the case then this poll tells us - 'people who have only really played the PS3 or 360 think that the PS3 or 360 is the best console'

It's to be expected though - it's like when you get radio stations or TV programmes having "The 100 best songs/tv moments/blah blah EVER" and there's always examples in there from the last couple of years that everyone will have forgotten about in a few years time.

Still if we discount the 360 and PS3, as some will have voted for them because they aint played much else, and some people will have voted for either the PS3 or 360 because its the one they own and they want it to 'win', then he highest rated console is the SNES.

And thats not a bad result.

And of course, there is no accounting for taste, and the levels of unchecked insanity you always get with these things.

6 people think the Sega CD is the best console they have played.

Hicks thinks the Xbox is the best because you can throw it down stairs.

All good fun, but I don't think we are going to get anything out of it.

Wait, am i missing something or is the commodore not there???!!! That was the greatest thing for me(in the time period), my dad gave me about 200 games on floppy in those big old cases and i was like WOW what a collection, great fun playing fire and ice and some others like street fighter, original prince of persia!.

Also Stewart, its amazing how fun knocking a games console down the stairs and being happy it didnt break , i broke a PS1 that way but my mates xbox he dropped it down my 26 stairs and it survived ! , he was very happy.

Ack no - I missed the vote. Admittedly I've only owned a n64, ps1, sega saturn, xbox and dreamcast.
Out of which, my favourite console has to be the Dreamcast. So many happy hours spent on Phantasy Star Online, regular top flight titles from the likes of Sega and a virulent "homebrew" scene. Playing quake 3 online with a mouse and keyboard on a console at the time seemed oh so special. The VSU's (that little lcd screen memory card thingy) were a little gimmicky but the controller was first class for comfort and function (at least for me).


Frankly I'm surprised to see the Ps3/xbox360 get quite so many votes.

i am not surprised by the 360/ps3 doing so well people that have them were always gonna vote for there console.

i voted snes and the fact it was the next in the list after the big two says alot for me deffo the best console ever!!!!
