I'm not the best person to answer this. I have serious performance issues, and i'm running E8200, 8800GTS 640Mb, 4Gb ram and Vista 64. It seems very hit & miss if your system will run with no issues or its a dog.

I can run WAR on max settings with my PC, I struggled to run AoC on Low.

My computer specs are in the my system tab.

I too have technical issues with this game crashing and dropping back to desktop without a word of warning.

Also, I get huge lag spikes while in game and then all of a sudden I've been raped by a demon pig or goat and then have to respawn

It's good, but it has a few flaws that let it down overall.

I'm glad i'm not the only one having issues, i sometimes feel on my own with the problems with this game.

Your right it is a good game, with some very good ideas, but the whole performance issue and no support is a killer for me. It needs to get them fixed asap, with WoTLK around the corner many people will ditch this and Conan and head back to WoW.

And i will reiterate comments i've made before. I really wanted to see this game succeed. I'm afraid its not going to be a WoW beater. Well not for me anyway.

Re: News - WAR Online becomes fastest selling MMO ever

Been finding WAR quite good, although its starting to feel a bit "bite sized". Level 40 seems too low, the amount of content seems too little and PvP (the entire drive behind the game) currently seems like a bit of a zergfest..........Classes seem fairly well balanced but it does seem to have come at the cost of flavour. Lots of abilities that are pretty much the same given to an array of classes.

Not a single crash so far, Alt-Tabing a lot without issue, performance is blistering (can run at 2560x1600 with everything maxed), some friends seem plagued with the black screen when windowing/minimising though.....although none have had the CTDs yet.....I am still a firm believer the CTDs are not normally software issues though, normally something dodgy/broken/overclocked that a particular game will highlight more then another *shrug*

It is a great game, although I have a feeling its long-term appeal will be hampered by it's lack of variety and depth.

Believe me when i say i've done every thing. Run official GFX drivers, 2 different types of beta drivers. BIOS, drivers for everything. Tweaked the BIOS, tweaked Vista. Run memory tests, gfx/cpu tests, all to no avail.

Yes i have another PC that may just run it. But like hell am i going to try it. I shouldn't be made to jump through hoops to play a game. I'm not the only one with these issues, i've seen some serious high end systems failing to run this game smoothly (Warhammer Alliance forums have lots of threads with people complaining)

So my view is ****'em. They are not getting any of my money for a beta.

Re: News - WAR Online becomes fastest selling MMO ever

On the flip-side I have played a number of different MMOs over the last 10 years.....

If there is one thing I have seen more then anything else it is the "placebo effect".

After any game patch or change you always get a contingent of users who swear they have new issues that they never had previously. Some games (and MMOs seem the biggest culprits) just heavily tax a system in certain ways that show issues you never thought you had.

I've been caught with it twice, once was a dodgy memory stick, the other was an unstable overclock (that could loop 3dMark endlessly and play every other game I had fine).

Have you checked your system specs against other peoples? Have you dropped everything back to default for testing? Because there are a LOT of people out there who haven't crashed to the desktop once yet......including both my PCs, one of which is running an 8800GTS 640MB @ 1920x1200 on Vista X64 Home Prem with everything maxed.

I've done everything that i can do to try and solve the issues i had. I too run a 8800gts @ 1920x1200 with Vista 64 Home Prem. Yes there are a lot of people running with no issues at all, by the same token there are a lot in the same predicament as me.

What i don't see is any real support from Mythic to help solve this, lots of the things i've been doing is purely from the user base. This is something that is totally unprofessional in this day and age. Having no tech forum of their own is such a backward step.

As i've said before, i wipe my hands clean of this game.
