I'm definitely not a lawyer, but isn't this borderline libel?

I'm not a MS or Apple fan, but I find Apple's adverts hugely irritating and normally so generalised that they're wrong/lying.

I think MS took that right direction with the "I'm a PC" adverts by simply not mentioning Apple.

could the title of this article be changed from spoils to "smears", as it seems more appropriate?

MS don't really need to mention Apple, MS's chief competitor is themselves... They want people to migrate from XP to Vista, the few they might persuade to move over from OSX/Linux would never have been worth the campaign.

Re: News - Apple spoils Microsoft's ad campaign with new "I'm a Mac" sketch

Just the kind of blinkered and puerile nonsense I'd expect from Apple to be honest.

Yes, I'm a Mac user in parts, but good lord, why not just concentrate of giving us "good product" instead of booting the competition? Reality distortion field strikes again methinks....

Our resident Mac-head at work really gets wound up by my "they're both good" attitude and can't understand why I don't pound the holy (Mac) bible like a crazed zealot whenever a Mac discussion/argument (delete as applicable) kicks off.

    what a shocking advert!

I would have to agree that does sound a lot like a libel case.

Re: News - Apple spoils Microsoft's ad campaign with new "I'm a Mac" sketch

So the take away is that everyone likes Jon Hodgeman aka the PC, the Mac isn't even worth mentioning in Apple adds any more and that Apple of all people want to lecture Microsoft on advertising instead of fixing problems?

What next? berating Vista for raising the barrier to entry and being less forgiving of random no make hardware? Oh, oh! how about getting rid of compatibility with old hardware for no reason!

To me it feels a bit like childish taunting, I've always liked Apple products, but this is just stupid.

So I have to be a childish cock to want to use Apple?

Cos that's the message I got.

Shame, as OSX is rather nice.

A bit childish, but a common tactic in US centric advertising - you regularly see "Take Newpill tests have shown it to be 80% more effective than CompetitorsPill" on the TV.
