glad to see AMD supporting DDR3 shortly, should make things more tasty, and bring down them rather high DDR3 prices a tad....
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!
That's pretty soon...
Does this mean that the DDR2 + DDR3 Deneb core is the last socket AM2+ revision there will be, or will there be another before they switch over completely to AM3?
I thought that 2+ and 3 were going to be compat with each other?
And yes, probably a deliberate slip, looking at AMD's market value..
I guess we're expected to do quite wellOriginally Posted by Fortune117
Well yes, they are, so long as the AM3 chip has the cabability to do DDR2 (which the next lot will) - so my question is will these upcoming Deneb cores be the only ones to do both or will there be more before they do away with DDR2?
Seeing as these motherboards are listed as having a 941 pin socket instead of a 940 pin they've already put the compatability break in place - so the first AM3 only (and thus, DDR3 only) chips will be 941 instead of 940 - it can't be more than 2 or 3 revisions away, if even that.
any1 have any idea when this board is getting released.
