News - Inno3D and Arctic Cooling team up for iChiLL GeForce GTX 260

Faster than reference, cooler than reference, and quieter than reference, too?

These coolers are so much better than the reference ones. Got me a Arctic Cooling Accelero Twin Turbo on a 4870. Temps are never a problem (i.e. 40's), even overclocked at full load in a Cosmos case which doesn't exactly have the best air flow.

The same problem remains. It takes 3 slots. I'm sure it's very good, but it's not for everyone when it's that deep. An Akasa Vortex is surely better. Yeah, the temps are a bit higher, but it's cheaper, and anyway if these chips are happily churning away at 70, 80 and 90c+, then temps aren't a problem, so I'm struggling to see the point in having something which takes away functionality in another area.

From my point of view these would only be worth the extra in a smaller form factor... but then the fact that they're huge defeats that purpose in itself.

I'll only use one installed card at a time, so size isn't really an issue. Not quite so good for dual cards.
