Re: News - Windows 7 Release Candidate now available to download

Got it on an old POS laptop (C1.4 512Mb RAM) seems to be faster than XP was...

However I notice it still says build 7100 in the bottom corner....

The old beta was also 7100, would the build number not change between public beta and rc?

Perfect timing for my new build. Question is, do I want 32bit or 64bit? How is gaming/legacy support on 64bit?

Only downside is you won't get a serial key if you don't already have one... but you could always get that from them and download separately... up to you
Any link for the 32bit version? Do I still need to go through the process of giving them my personal information to obtain a serial key or can that be found elsewhere on the site?

Downloading with those links, does anyone know if my original beta key will still work with this? As it didn't work with build 7077.

Re: News - Windows 7 Release Candidate now available to download

It should work cobhc - I'm using an original beta key.
If it doesn't you can get a new key anyway - they want as many people as possible to use it it seems.

Re: News - Windows 7 Release Candidate now available to download

Hmm, that is odd. I got a Beta key on the day it came out for the 64bit version, it worked for both 32bit and 64bit versions of 7000, but not since. Guess I'll have to hang on and get a new key, just taking so flipping long to be able to get one!

Can someone clarify the process of getting a key? Do they give it to you after you give them your details but before you start the download, after the download, or..?

Managed to get one now, maybe Safari was part of the problem? I used Firefox and it worked.

Before. You get given the key, then a download link.
