330 <bleep>ing pounds for a <bleep>ing game controller. <bleep> me!!!!!
As soon as I saw the article I was temped, but then I saw the price
Although, maybe we'll see a lot of 2nd hand G25's going cheap soon.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.
the G25 was up at £300 on logitechs site, and costs about £150 for the past 2 years..
it wont be that much soon
WTF, its a G25 with 4 extra buttons on the wheel :s
im sticking with the G25 as there is not enough of a rework to warrant it.
As Gonzo says, the RRP of the G25 is £280, and it's available for ~£120, so I'd take sod all notice of that for now.
I'll be sticking to the G25 too (though with BRD Speed 7 pedals).
The only competition Logitech have in the medium-quality racing controls department is from Fanatec. If you're looking at a G27, then you really should be getting that instead - it's a much better wheel. G25 still holds the value-for-money crown in this market segment.
The G27 is just an option, with a few tweaks here and there. It's not for those who have a G25, it's for those who are looking for a wheel.
For the record, it's missing the sequential shifter that the G25 had. The G25 let you choose between H-pattern and sequential on the shifter (or the paddles).
iRacing is the best sim ever released, and by some distance. Though if your concern is financial, then it's not for you.
rFactor has plenty of mods, though how close many of them are to reality (the fantastic Cart Factor excluded) is very debatable.
NASCAR Racing 2003 is still up there with the best, and GPL is still as immersive as they come, though looking a bit dated now.

We don't have anything comparable in terms of buying parts and tuning cars etc. For numbers of cars then Test Drive Unlimited is probably the most similar -the driving model is not a world away either. For realism though we've got the likes of GTR-Evolution which also looks okay, but has poor car selection and nothing like the polished interface etc. iRacing and rFactor are also top notch simulators especially if you put the work into getting the mods that you want.

You're not looking at a sim if you want realism. That's like calling TOCA Touring Cars a sim.
GT is a massive franchise. You'll struggle to find anything close to it in terms of sheer numbers, regardless of platform.
rFactor has plenty of choice with all the mods, but it's more sim-orientated. For something less realistic, I've no idea.

id give Grid a try. its pretty cheap and a lot of fun. i used to be into GPL (have a negative GPL rank if that means anything to you) GTR etc but for a quick intense good looking race id go for grid.
i do hope this means G25's will drop in price as i have always fancied one but couldn’t justify the price tag.
never heard of iRacing, looks interesting. i get the impression Simbin are looking to do something similar?
do a google search for real-timeracing iOpener
